Intel Generations - The Third Generation, Xeon MP to i7

About this Artwork 

This artwork is my third in a series of Intel's microprocessors. The microprocessors used in this artwork were selected to highlight the major technologies Intel introduced in this time period. These third-generation microprocessors represented the beginning of the era of multi-core microprocessors. The artwork starts with the Xeon MP and ends with the Intel i7. During these years Intel faced increasing competition from other chip makers like AMD. The background is an image of an Intel i7 quad-core. Here is a list of the microprocessors used in this piece: Intel Xeon MP, Pentium M, Pentium D, Intel Core, Intel Itanium II Dual-Core, Intel Core 2, Intel Atom, and Intel i7.

Framing

The artwork is a 16"x20" in a black shadow box frame, with glass. All framing materials are acid-free. A narrative about the artwork that includes the artist’s signature is placed on the back of the artwork.
