Item034: Apple Microprocessor Pendant - PowerPC, IBM, Canada, PPC750
About the Jewelry
This pendant is made from an upcycled 1990s Apple microprocessor chip. It was used in several G3 series Apple computers. Technically it is an 800MHz PowerPC 750 microprocessor. The processor was made by IBM in Canada (says so in the lower right corner). Because the processor is a Flip Chip, you are looking at the backside of the processor; it’s mounted face down. However, the chemical process of making the chip gives it a pink or teal hue that changes somewhat with the light. If you have an Apple in your heart, this necklace is for you!
Included:
The 3/4" square silver-plated pendant (due to manufacturing differences your chip may look slightly different than the one pictured here), a 24" silver plated necklace, and a ChipScapes card that gives information about this jewelry.
