About this Artwork

This artwork is my fourth in a series of Intel's microprocessors. The microprocessors used in this artwork were selected to highlight the major technologies Intel introduced in this time period. These fourth-generation microprocessors represented the era of the microarchitecture processors The artwork starts with the Core i5 and ends with the Xeon E. It could have included the high-end Intel Core i9, but functional i9s were too difficult to acquire for this artwork. This was a confusing time with many microarchitectures with cool names like Nehalem, Sandy Bridge, Broadwell, Coffee Lake, etc. Intel used these architectures in most of their processors produced during this time, generations within generations, with tweaks here and there. Categorization of microarchitectures has become difficult and confusing. However, this reuse of architectures gave Intel the ability to create an extensive product line. Brands became less synonymous with their underlying technology than in previous generations. Hundreds of different processors were produced, and choosing microprocessors to represent this time period was difficult.

Framing

The artwork is a 16"x20" in a black shadow box frame, with glass. All framing materials are acid-free. A narrative about the artwork that includes the artist’s signature is placed on the back of the artwork.

Please note:  The look of the artifacts in the artworks may vary, each piece is unique.
