Antique A2D - Spiral Notebook
About the Artwork
Antique A2D is a microphotograph of an Analog to Digital computer chip. The artwork has some of the most varied colorings of any of my works. The jewel colors are a function of the chip technology and lighting. Light shined at different angles refracted through the glass causes a colorful effect. The different types of silicon used in the chip also reflect different colors. This chip interfaces to the analog world and converts data to digital form, binary. The analog parts use structures not typically found in a digital chips, which makes it that much more exciting.
