Digital Film - Art Print
About the Artwork
Digital Film's subject is an Intel Mobile Pentium chip; actually, there are three of them. These chips are created to be lightweight and the chips used in laptops and tablets. Most Pentiums destined for desktops and workstations are encased in a ceramic case with gold pins that allow it to be inserted into a socket on the computer's mainboard. They mount these mobile Pentiums on a lightweight plastic material that resembles 35mm photographic film. The chip, the blue rectangle, is mounted face down on the gold interconnect leads that connect the chip to the small rectangular pads around the edges of the package. These pads attach to the laptop's mainboard. These lightweight mobile packages are about ten times lighter than their desktop counterparts. These mobile Pentiums are manufactured in strips, again, much like 35mm film, and the plastic is cut up into the individual packages.
About the PrintOur prints are produced on acid-free papers using archival inks to guarantee that they last a lifetime without fading or loss of color. All art prints include a 1" white border around the image to allow for future framing and matting, if desired.
