Information Workers - Art Print
About the Artwork
Information Workers is an image of an IBM 701. It was a vacuum tube-based calculator that preceded programmable computers. The 701 had banks and banks of vacuum tubes that provided the switching logic for its calculations. The Information Workers title has a double meaning. First, the tubes were the "workers" that allowed the 701 to process information. Second, looking at this sea of tubes, it made me think of the huge number of workers today whose modern craft is creating, processing, and managing digital information.
About the Print
Our prints are produced on acid-free papers using archival inks to guarantee that they last a lifetime without fading or loss of color. All art prints include a 1" white border around the image to allow for future framing and matting, if desired.
